Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Your messages and calls on Mia Relay are end-to-end encrypted. We can't read them. We don't sell them. We don't sell ads against them. We make money from your subscription and from declined introduction deposits — not from your data.

2. Who's the data controller?

Mia IP Limited, registered in England and Wales, is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with Mia Relay. You can reach us at info@miabazo.com for any data-protection question.

3. What we collect

Identity data at signup — enough to verify you are a real, accountable human. Stored encrypted at rest and accessed only by automated verification systems and, where strictly necessary, by trained staff. Never shown to other users; they see only that the green tick next to your name is genuine.

Contact graph — who you are connected to. We need this to route calls and messages and to decide when an introduction deposit is required. We never sell or share it.

Service metadata — sign-in times, device identifiers, billing events, deposit transactions. The minimum needed to operate a service you can trust.

Message and call content — end-to-end encrypted on your device with keys only you and your recipients hold. We physically cannot read this.

4. Why we process your data (lawful bases)

Contract. Most of what we do is necessary to provide Mia Relay to you under our Terms of Service: routing your messages, processing your deposits, billing your subscription.
Legitimate interests. Fraud prevention, abuse investigation, and security — balanced carefully against your privacy rights.
Legal obligation. Where we must keep records to comply with UK tax, accounting or regulatory law.
Consent. Anywhere we ask explicitly — for example, optional analytics.

5. What we don't do

We do not sell, lease, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your contact graph to suggest commercial products. We do not embed third-party tracking pixels in the Mia Relay app.

6. Who can see your data

You. Always.
Your contacts, for messages and calls you've sent them.
Mia IP staff, only for the minimum metadata needed to operate the service, fix bugs, handle support requests you raise, and respond to lawful legal process.
Sub-processors, for services like cloud hosting, identity verification and payment processing. They are contractually bound to the same privacy standards. A current list is available on request.

7. How long we keep it

Identity-verification data is retained for as long as your account is active, plus a short fraud- prevention window afterwards. Message content is retained only for as long as needed to deliver it to your devices. Billing records and deposit-transaction records are retained for the period required by UK tax and consumer-protection law (currently up to seven years).

8. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to access, correct, port and delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email info@miabazo.com to exercise any of these rights. We respond within thirty (30) days, free of charge.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113 if you think we've handled your data badly. We'd appreciate the chance to fix it first — please email us before you escalate.

9. International transfers

Mia Relay's primary data hosting is in the United Kingdom. Where data must be transferred outside the UK (for example, to a sub-processor hosted in the EU or US), we rely on UK-approved transfer mechanisms such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Children

Mia Relay is not for use by children under sixteen (16). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone in that age group.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active users with at least thirty (30) days' notice via the app and by email.
